Pardon my lack of posts! Driving has me totally exhausted and today was the first time since I arrived I felt enough energy to get up and go. I keep dreaming I’m still driving and startle myself awake thinking I fell asleep at the wheel. Close my eyes and see the highway

I made it to where I was going lol. I’m hanging with 8 people I went to Mexico with in 2017. It’s the first time we’ve all been together since and I’m really really happy to have this visit :)

Flashback to summer tan lines and sweet hotel rooms. On my way back from Vancouver Island I became sick with food poisoning. Stopping every 15-20 minutes in waves of sickness. 6 hours driving like that, then a 2 hour ferry ride (was pretty sure I was dying by that point), then another hour and a half up to Squamish on that beautiful highway later….and for the only night on my three week journey did I sleep in a real bed. The other 20 nights were in the hammock, in the tent, or in the back of my van. STILL I managed to take a nude 🤦🏻♀️
With all of that said, and remembering how capable I am, I am going to drive and go anyway. It’s costing me an extra $60 each way with the gas prices how they are and I figure my mental health is worth the $120. So 16 hour road trip here I come.
I will use those flight credits to do a cheap to/from Toronto one weekend or something. So, I am DRIVING and I will get there and continue as planned just a couple days late start.

I am sorry. Yesterday’s struggle at the airport and the disappointment of not being able to figure out a new plan, and some personal problems have me feeling pretty deeply sad right now. Those of you who’ve known/followed me for awhile probably are aware I get this way sometimes. Although, it’s been a long long time since I’ve been this down. But please don’t leave, I just need a couple of days to fight through it and I’ll be back to myself asap. I appreciate any kind words, funny memes or general empathy. Even if I don’t respond your messages and encouragement always always help. Some throwbacks to times I really felt good.

Well here I sit. Since 545 this morning. My flight was overbooked and I didn’t get on. Because I only had the cheapest basic fare they wouldn’t just get me on the next flight without paying for the difference, which was an absurd amount for a two hour flight. I’ve been looking very forward to seeing my family and friends back home and after the next week my kids start spring sports and there will be no leaving after that :( just waiting for someone to be able to pick me up and drive me home
