It's Labor Day here in the US. To explain for non-Americans, Labor Day is our version of your May 1st holiday that has completely lost its original meaning of recognizing the contributions of workers. After the ruling class moved the holiday to September (to distance it from its history of violent union uprisings), Labor Day became a long weekend to distract workers from their plight by indulging in barbecues and mattress sales. It is also a fashion holiday that supposedly marks the end of the season during which one can respectably wear white clothing. So I say, F all of that and here's a special holiday barbecue smorgasbord of white outfits to celebrate the proletariat! ✊
