I did it. I put my notice in at my engineering job. I get mixed feedback when I post about it - “your looks won’t last forever, not a smart decision, self-employment isn’t stable, etc…” What I do know, over the last 8 months I’ve found work that inspires me and makes me happy. Engineering gave me a paycheck, but it did not light me up inside. Even if the online adult industry was to end tomorrow, I’ve realized I would never be truly happy to go back to working a 9-5 for someone else for decades. I will find other ways. I didn’t quit my 9-5 to stop working - I quit to now have the time to work on things of my choosing. My last day is the end of March, and I’ve never been more excited for my next chapter.
